About
β‘ Hello, I'm Faris Khan! π
Student | Maker | Embedded Systems & AI Hobbyist | Competitive Programmer | Speedcuber
Welcome to my Rainflower.world profile! I am a passionate tech builder, problem solver, and recent SSC graduate from St. Gregory's High School (Class of 2026). My journey in technology spans hardware engineering, artificial intelligence, software design, and environmental innovation.
π About Me
My fascination with computing started early. What began as building simple visual logic with Scratch block coding in Class 7 quickly evolved into writing low-level firmware for microcontrollers, engineering IoT hardware setups, and training machine learning models.
I thrive at the intersection of hardware (IoT/Embedded Systems) and intelligent software (AI & Mobile/Web Dashboards)βbuilding full-stack physical solutions that solve real-world problems.
π Science Fair & Engineering Achievements
Over the past few years, I have actively participated in and won multiple school science fairs with hardware, mobile, and software projects:
- π₯ 1st Place (Class 7) β Scratch Block Coding: My first official science fair win, demonstrating fundamental programming concepts, interactive logic, and game development.
- π₯ 1st Place (Class 8) β Microcontroller Applications: Built physical projects using microcontrollers, sensor arrays, and custom circuit design to automate physical tasks.
- π± Mobile App Development: Designed and built custom Android mobile applications using MIT App Inventor tailored specifically to control, monitor, and display real-time sensor data for my science fair hardware systems.
- π Smart Agriculture (Blynk + Sonar Sensor AWD System): Engineered an automated remote water pump controller designed for IRRI-recommended Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) farming. The system uses ultrasonic sonar sensors and the Blynk IoT platform to save water and optimize agricultural irrigation.
- π₯ 1st Place β Artificial Intelligence Showcase: Developed an interactive AI system using a modern web tech stack including Teachable Machine, TensorFlow.js, and p5.js for real-time browser-based computer vision and inference.
- π Indoor Positioning System (IPS): Designed and deployed a localized indoor positioning system using 3 ESP32 nodes operating as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons. By applying trilateration algorithms on signal strength (RSSI), I mapped real-time indoor coordinates and rendered them on a custom web dashboard map.
π Academic Background & Tech Stack
I recently completed my SSC (2026) at St. Gregory's High School, achieving a perfect GPA 5.0, highlighting a strong analytical foundation:
- Chemistry: 100 / 100
- Mathematics & Higher Mathematics: 90+
- Biology: 90+
- Physics: 85
π οΈ Technical Skillset
- Mobile & Web: MIT App Inventor (Android Apps), Python (started in Class 8), PHP (post-SSC backend development), JavaScript (p5.js, TensorFlow.js), HTML/CSS.
- Specializations: Agentic AI Engineering (completed mentored program), Embedded Firmware, IoT Communication Protocols, BLE RSSI Trilateration.
- Competitive Programming: Active problem solver on Toph.co.
πΏ Environmental Awareness & Worldview
Beyond code and microcontrollers, I care deeply about nature and sustainability. During a school study tour to Cox's Bazar, I witnessed firsthand the delicate balance of coastal ecosystems and the severe impact of human overuse and environmental neglect. This experience reinforced my drive to build sustainable technologyβsuch as smart agricultural water controllersβto protect our natural resources.
π― Hobbies & Socials
When I am away from my workstation, you can find me solving Rubik's cubes or hanging out on Discord.
